That belief became the foundation of The Sandbox 2025 Impact Awards.
Why We Created the Impact Awards
In late 2024, The Sandbox made a strategic decision to expand the way we create impact.
While continuing to walk alongside families facing childhood cancer, rare diseases, disabilities, and life-altering illnesses will always remain at the heart of our mission, we recognized another opportunity to make a lasting difference.
What if we invested directly in the people already doing extraordinary work in our community?
What if we came alongside nonprofit leaders, entrepreneurs, advocates, and changemakers, providing not only encouragement, but real resources, meaningful relationships, strategic guidance, and unwavering support?
We believe that when you empower the right people, the impact reaches far beyond what any one organization could accomplish alone.
Because when one changemaker grows, entire communities benefit.
A Partnership Built on Purpose
To bring this vision to life, The Sandbox partnered with EmpowerHer and Leah Williams to intentionally support women-led businesses, nonprofits, and initiatives throughout our community.
Together, we created something much bigger than an awards program.
We created a community.
The Impact Awards were born from a simple but powerful belief:
When you walk alongside people with trust, resources, authentic relationships, and encouragement, impact multiplies.
More Than an Awards Ceremony
The 2025 Impact Awards were designed to recognize, resource, and amplify individuals and organizations actively making a difference.
The evening celebrated entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders, and community partners whose work creates measurable, meaningful change every single day.
But recognition was never the finish line.
The Impact Awards exist to create opportunities for collaboration, mentorship, visibility, and long-term investment in people whose influence continues long after the event ends.
The evening became a catalyst for new relationships, deeper partnerships, and authentic community, bringing together people who share one common purpose:

At The Sandbox, we never wanted this experience to be about choosing one winner.
We wanted every finalist to leave knowing they had gained a community committed to their success.
Our inaugural cohort included remarkable finalists whose collective work touches hundreds of lives each year.
Each finalist received a personalized award thoughtfully designed to reflect not only their mission, but also the resilience, strength, creativity, and perseverance that brought them to this moment.
Beyond the awards themselves, every finalist received customized, high-touch support, including:

- Professional guidance and business resources
- New customer and community exposure
- Meaningful networking opportunities
- Professional headshot photography
- Ongoing encouragement and collaboration

These investments were intentionally designed so that the Impact Awards would create lasting momentum rather than a single evening of celebration.
Investing Beyond the Stage
To date, The Sandbox has gifted more than $45,000 in goods and professional services directly into the Impact community.
Rather than simply recognizing great work, we chose to invest in it.
Because we believe encouragement is powerful.
But encouragement paired with tangible resources changes lives.
Every connection made, every mentor introduced, every service provided, and every opportunity created has the potential to multiply impact throughout our community.
The Impact Community
One of the most meaningful parts of the Impact Awards doesn’t end when the event is over.
Every finalist becomes part of The Sandbox’s growing Impact Community, remaining connected through continued collaboration, shared learning, authentic relationships, and ongoing support.
The goal has never been a single celebration.
The goal is sustained investment in people who are investing in others.
Because when changemakers are supported, entire communities flourish.
